Child Safety Standards
MindDoor is a social application for adults aged 18 and over, developed and operated by MindDoor Network. We are committed to keeping MindDoor free of any content or conduct that sexualises, endangers or exploits children. These are the child safety standards we publish and enforce on every platform where MindDoor is available, including Google Play and the Apple App Store.
1. Zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE)
MindDoor strictly prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation in every form, including:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM): any image, video, drawing, text, link or AI-generated or otherwise synthetic material that depicts, describes or sexualises a minor.
- Grooming: building trust with a minor, or with someone believed to be a minor, in order to sexually exploit or abuse them.
- Sextortion: threatening to share intimate images or information unless a person, including a minor, provides more images, money or anything else.
- Sexualising minors, including sexual comments about a child or "age-play" content that involves minors.
- Trafficking of, or arranging contact with, a minor for any sexual or exploitative purpose.
- Asking for, offering, sharing, promoting, normalising or helping to find any of the above.
Any account involved in CSAE is permanently banned. Confirmed CSAM is removed, preserved as required by law, and reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and/or the competent authorities.
2. MindDoor is adults-only (18+)
As stated in our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, you must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use MindDoor. There is no exception for minors and no parental-consent option. Every user must confirm that they are 18 or older when creating an account. Any account we believe belongs to, or is used by, a person under 18 is suspended and deleted.
MindDoor's design also limits contact risks: users are identified only by a username and an avatar, profiles contain no personal photos, real names, ages or precise locations, and all messages are text only. Sending images is not possible.
3. In-app reporting and user feedback
MindDoor provides in-app tools to report and block:
- Report a user from their profile, with reasons that include sexual content, harassment and inappropriate behaviour;
- Report a Mind Room, which immediately closes the room for all participants while we review it;
- Block a user so that they can no longer contact you or see your content.
Reports about the safety of a child, CSAE or CSAM are handled with the highest priority. Users, parents, guardians and members of the public can also contact us directly (Section 6) to report suspected CSAE or an underage user, or to give feedback about child safety on MindDoor. You do not need an account to report.
4. How we address CSAE and CSAM
- Prevention: every thought is checked by automated moderation before it is published or matched, including detection of sexual content and sexual solicitation, and content that fails these checks is blocked.
- Review: reports are reviewed by our moderation team. Content that violates these standards is removed promptly, and we may review related content in the account, including messages, to protect a child.
- Enforcement: accounts involved in CSAE are permanently banned, and we take steps against attempts to return with new accounts.
- Reporting: we report confirmed CSAM and child exploitation to NCMEC (through its CyberTipline) and/or to the competent law-enforcement authorities in the relevant country, and we cooperate with lawful requests from those authorities.
- Preservation: relevant content and account data are preserved securely, with restricted access, for as long as the law and the authorities require.
- Imminent danger: if we learn that a child is in imminent danger, we contact the relevant emergency or law-enforcement authority without delay.
5. Compliance with child safety laws
MindDoor complies with applicable child safety laws and regulations in the countries where the app is available, including obligations to report and remove CSAM. We review and update these standards as our product and the law evolve.
6. Child safety point of contact
